Cecelia fell to her knees in the pine needles next to them, gesturing frantically with her hands. “What the heck is going on in this town? I was trying to find you and Avery yesterday but instead I saw a weird guy with a triangle head and he looked at me and it gave me a headache and-”
Tazmin stopped dead in his tracks, glancing down the length of a side trail to see someone in a red flannel shirt, looking at him with warm curiosity.
Folding themselves into the far corner and letting the floorboard and rug close atop them and cover them, the brothers sat in tense silence for what seemed like eternity, barely daring to breathe. Though he couldn’t see very well in the pitch-black of their hidey-hole, Naga knew Snek’s face must’ve been mirroring his; pinned ears, an uneasy frown, and wide eyes filled with a sense of wariness not unlike a small animal waiting for a predator to pass over.
“I didn’t realize the giants were actually getting this close to the town,” a male voice sounded softly through the trees, tone pensive. “They’re supposed to be skittish, aren’t they?”
Making his way to the edge of the schoolyard to watch the mist and the trees through the chain-link fence, Leroy found himself fixating on an old fire lookout tower and pondering it until the bell rang.

It was hard for the shorter of the pair to keep up this time around, their body weighed down by countless questions. Truth be told, they had no dinner plan. Just as one set of questions was answered, a whole new set unfurled like ferns in spring. Ryder heaved a sigh and shook their head in the rapidly dimming light, watching as the last of the sun seemed to follow the girl like a loyal pet.

A powerful goddess of justice and the natural order of things, Nameless One makes her debut in this incredibly eerie art piece! Honestly, the lighting process on this thing wiped the floor with me, but the end result makes me very happy. It was heavily inspired by “The Yawning Grave” by Lord Huron, as the melody and lyrics of the song perfectly fit Nameless One’s character. Fun little fact about Nameless One: She was one of my first-ever transgender characters!…
